I have owned, shown and bred Shetland Sheepdogs since 1987, with Rough Collies 3 years later, breeding and owning a Sheltie with Stud Book Number - Duchesnay Raindancer (1CC,1RCC). I endeavour to breed for healthy happy dogs and always have my puppy's eyes tested at 6-7 weeks, with excellent results.

I have been a committee member of the Eastern Counties Sheltand Sheepdog Club since shortly after its inception and occasionally steward for their various shows, I have also “score-boarded” several times at Open and Exemption Shows having owned 2 ‘obedience‘

Shelties who achieved some success, “judged”/organised ‘fun‘ events for Shelties and their owners and 'handled' dogs at Kennel Club accredited assessment days. I have attended almost all Seminars of the ECSSC since the club first started, approximately 1 each year and have ‘handled‘ dogs at K.C. accredited assessment days. Also attended some seminars from other breeds at their clubs.

The K.C. Examination “Requirements of a Dog Show Judge” has been attended, taken and achieved at 92% pass result, with Mrs Freda Marshall as lecturer, in October 02. I have passed the English Shetland Sheepdog Club Training of Judges Scheme and am on their "B" list. I have also attended the East Anglian Collie Association Training of Judges Seminar, and am on their "C" List to judge.

I have judged at Open and Companion Shows, judging a variety of breeds and specializing in Shetland Sheepdogs and Rough Collies.

I also have some knowledge of Border Collies, Australian Shepherd Dogs and Mini Smooth Dachshunds, having taken an active interest in their breeding and care.

I enjoy photographing and painting dogs and cats, which gives an insight into their structure and form. I cover the photography of the winning dogs at the Eastern Counties Sheltand Sheepdog Club shows for their archives and the owner's pleasure. You can find some of my paintings further on this website.
